Our Services

From Basics to Competition

Our 1900-square-foot indoor, climate-controlled training facility allows us to hold classes year-round. We currently offer obedience training for all stages of learning including puppy training, basic obedience, competition obedience, and agility classes. Not sure where to start? We are happy to help you and your pup get started. Dog training classes start every six weeks. Call us to sign your dog up for the next training session.

Puppy Training (Specialized)

At the Paw Patch, we are here to give your puppy “one paw forward” in life, with our puppy training program, aka puppy kindergarten. Your new furry friend will be with Chris, our trainer and owner, in her home for 2 weeks. Chris has been working with dogs for over 50 years and has the expertise and knowledge for both you and your puppy to succeed with training. During puppy kindergarten, puppies will learn socialization skills with other puppies. They will also learn all the basic and necessary commands. These include, but are not limited to: go place/crate, sit, down, stand, back, off, leave it, come, stay, watch me, wait and walking politely on the leash. We also handle other puppy-hood issues such as potty training, jumping on people, and biting/teething. Puppies are formally trained on all the exercises daily. Then throughout the day on impulse control and potty training to make for a pawsome puppy at pick up!

At pick up, you will have roughly a 2 hour turnover lesson with Chris. This lesson will go over important and useful information regarding your puppy and his/her training. After that, you will get to see all the amazing things your puppy has learned and how to do them yourself. We request that you record this so that you can duplicate the results at home.

Chris not only specializes in training dogs, but also teaching owners on how to continue their dogs training. You will be sent home with a newfound skill set for following the foundations learned, so you and your puppy can continue to grow and learn together.

Puppy Training Classes

Get them started right! This class will assist you in a happy and healthy start to family living. We will discuss aspects of your personal home environment and help you with any individual problems as they come up. Your questions and problems will also help others in the group as they learn to live with their new pets. We will work with the basics: Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Off, Leave it, and walking nicely on a leash. Young brains are sponges, and these little pups just want to please.

Basic Obedience

Basic obedience is what all dogs need. We work with the basics: Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Off, Leave it, and walking nicely on a leash. But, we up the anti with focus and attention. These elements are what turn a good dog into a great dog, while working with each of the 7 basic skills. Learn tips for consistency, and step by step guides for getting it right with your dog.

This class is held on Thursday evenings from 7-8 p.m.

Competition Obedience

From Novice through Open to Utility and OTCH. We train with both AKC and UKC tests. Our instructor has trained with Joanne Fleming out of Canada, Celeste Meade, Connie Cleveland, Matthew Twitty, and more in order to learn as much as possible in the field of dog training and is here to share those marvelous techniques to add to your successful journey. Private Lessons

Private dog training lessons can be done at home or at the training facility. This is a one-on-one session with our trainer. We can work with all manor of issues and will help where needed. It is great for speeding up your training process and to fine-tune your competition dogs.
